Before starting removal services, it’s essential to determine the right method for your job. This will depend on various factors, such as tree condition and location. We then secure the surrounding area to maintain the safety of pedestrians and nearby vehicles in the Orpington, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells areas.
Felling is the process of causing a tree to fall in a certain direction and in a safe way. This is also known as directional felling.
This method of tree removal is only suitable if the surrounding area is clear. If it is not possible for the tree to fall without hitting buildings, structures, obstacles or other trees, we will use an alternative method.
Sectional Tree Felling (Rigging & Dismantling)
Sectional tree felling involves taking down trees a piece at a time. To do this, our tree surgeons climb the tree and remove individual branches. If necessary, we lower these to the ground using ropes.
Once we have removed the branches, we can cut the trunk into sections, starting from the top and lowering each piece as it’s cut.
This method of tree removal is ideal for trees that are dead, dangerous, storm damaged or overhanging buildings and/or property. Sectional tree felling is also suitable for sites which have difficult access or confined space.
Stump Grinding & Removal
After removing a tree, a small portion of the trunk remains in the ground. While it is not always necessary to remove the stump, there are various reasons you may want to.
We offer stump grinding and removal as a standalone service or as part of other tree surgery and felling work. This maximises safety and the visual appeal of your space. We also remove stumps in Westerham, Orpington, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas so they’re not in the way of new fences, buildings or other structures.
In the UK, it is an offence to fell trees without a licence, unless an exemption applies. This is to protect trees and woodland. As fully compliant tree surgeons, we have the necessary licence from the Forestry Commission to enable us to legally carry out tree removal. We also comply with all other government regulations and controls surrounding tree work.
